Become A Writer For Next In Office

Are you a writer looking to expand your portfolio and develop your writing skills on a public platform?
Next In Office can help you achieve this. We are currently accepting applications for volunteer freelance writing positions from passionate people to write political essays, articles and opinion pieces in three main categories. Once approved, you may write for one, two or all three of the categories. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to explore our site to learn more about who we are and what we do.

We are accepting applications for writing in the following areas:

1. Current Events
2. Educational / Expert Advice
3. Opinion Pieces

Current Events articles are posted on NextInOffice.org and are distributed throughout our various social networking platforms. They need to be roughly one page in length (approximately 500 words) about current political events in the U.S. or around the world. They can reflect local, state or national political events, but must be objective, un-biased and professionally written. You choose the event you would like to write about, as long as it is political in some nature.

Expert Advice articles are intended to inform or educate the reader about an area in politics in which you have experience and that can be of value to someone considering a run for office in the U.S. These articles will be published on NextInOffice.org in a resource section for aspiring candidates. If you have experience managing campaigns you can write about strategies, fundamentals of success, or campaign finance. If you are an expert on the specifics of political polling, write about that. The sky is the limit as long as the piece provides insight and value to the reader and details U.S political issues. The articles do not need to be objective, you are writing about your experience, but please keep them professional.

Opinion Pieces are the articles with the fewest restrictions. These will be published on "Perspective", our new blog. Write a paragraph, or a page, on a political matter that is on your mind. These can be subjective and creative and can detail your thoughts on any political issue. These articles are intended to provide the reader with a wide variety of ideas, topics and opinions on various political issues. As a reader, sometimes viewing the world through the author's eyes can be extremely insightful.

Our writers have the option to provide a short biography, a photo, and a link to their professional website or blog which is published with each article.

*Article integrity is extremely important. Plagiarism is absolutely unacceptable and will not be tolerated in any article or post on NextInOffice.org.
